California Art Club
The roots of this organization reach back to the early years of the 20th century.  Although there are a few artist members who are not residents of California, the majority of artists are from California.  They sponsor a number of events, a major exhibition, and support art education.  This group includes a large, and diverse, group of very talented California artists.

Oil Painters of America
This may be the premier organization for promoting oil painting in North America.  Membership is determined by a jurying process, and competitions are held annually, both in regions (east and west) and nationally.
